Love is in the Air!

Let’s get started with your Valentine cards early! I know that you must have at least one special person in your life that you want to show your love in the form of a card, along with other sweet treats.

120509_LoveU_Hearts (1)Shortly after Lianne’s visit in December, I decided that I wanted to experiment a bit more with using fabric on a greeting card and came up with this cutie pie. I used the Big Shot and cut a scalloped square, which I sewed to the Whisper White card base. Then I took and cut out a heart of another fabric and layered on front of the scalloped circle, which was also cut with the Big Shot. I used the “Join in the Cheer” die and cut out the Love – I did have to detach it from the connecting letters, which was no problem – I just snipped it apart with my handy dandy Stampin’ Up! paper snips.

120509_LoveU_HeartsIn this photo, you will see how the card opens up, allowing you to use the inside of the scalloped circle for your sentiment or journaling. I also snipped the edges of the fabric on the Whisper White card base, as I was trying to give it a ragged look. Pretty cool, huh!

On the scalloped circle, I cut the paper and folded it in half and when I placed it on the die for cutting, I moved it slightly down below the top scallops so that it would not cut my fold. You could actually use this for a card base without adding any paper behind it.

This card could be used for Valentine’s Day or any other occasion where you want to express your love.

Really sewing up a storm over there, huh Brenda? My machine is out…but that is all the further I got. Good intentions, and I will surprise myself soon. Nice card, love the uniqueness!

Red is my favorite color so, of course, I LOVE this card. I really like how the scalloped circle opens. Love how you used the fabric, too. Such a pretty card, Brenda.

I am sick. I gave away all my material remnants and scraps from my mom’s quilting as I didn’t intend to quilt. What was I thinking???? Not one of my brighter moments.

    Hugs!
