One Card – Two Challenges

Card created by Lianne Carper using the Baby Bundle stamp set by Stampin' Up! for the September Color ChallengeI don’t normally post on the weekends too much because I know that most of y’all aren’t around on the weekends.  I’m not normally here either, but I wanted to get this one out to you before I head off for the day.

I made this card to go along with our color challenge this month.  I somehow managed to omit the Certainly Celery from the card – I just couldn’t figure out how to work it in on this particular card.  I figured I could add a few more of the baby doo-dads from the stamp set but when trying to add  Certainly imageCelery designer print paper to the background, it just looked strange to me.  So this is what I ended up with.  But, I’m not eligible to win anyway, so I guess it’s ok.

There are still 4 days left to join in color challenge.  So get those projects made and post your link!

This color combo and pattern mix makes me think of Raggedy Ann & Andy.  I used to love my Raggedy Ann & Andy dolls.  I don’t think my daughter even knows who they are.in fact, I just asked her and she has no clue..lol.  Hmmm.showing my age I suppose!

imageI used the Mojo Monday sketch challenge for this week for the layout.  It was a bit challenging, but I like the way it came out.  I omitted the ribbon on the left side of the picture but used the ribbon tabs instead.  But, sketches and color challenges are just meant to inspire you and you can definitely tell that I was inspired!

I used the Baby Bundle stamp set and one of the new buttons from the new 2010-2011 Holiday Mini Catalog.  I love this stamp set – the images are just darling!  For the interior, I stamped Congratulations from the Well Scripted stamp set which is retired.

When I originally started making this card, I figured it would be great for a new baby boy.  However, now that it’s finished, I think it could be used for a new little girl too.

Hope you’re having a wonderful weekend!  Here’s a few more shots of this card!  Let me know what you think!  Click on the images to view them larger.

Lianne, red is my favorite color so I love your card. It’s adorable.
We just found out our friends are expecting their first grandchild and then we found out it’s going to be identical twin girls. Does that mean I have to make two cards? LOL
    Thanks for sharing.
    Hugs!
