It’s here! And with it comes so many new products, you won’t know what to order first! At the top of my list is the new fabric line that Stampin’ Up! has. Yes, you read that correctly. Stampin’ Up! has released two sets of fabric that coordinate perfectly with designer series papers! How awesome is that? Now you can combine your sewing with your paper crafts. Create a beautiful gift with the fabric and then make a matching card to go with it!
Check back later to see a cute card I made with some of the new goodies!

Okay ya’ll – I absolutely need to get packing for my upcoming move. I am not a bad girl, I just wanna play with my new SU goodies and share with everyone! What would life be like without being able to inspire, create and share?

This card highlights the “Christmas Postcard” single stamp and the Candy Cane Christmas designer paper, both which will be available on September 1 from the Holiday mini catty.
This was an easy card to put together. The only thing that took a bit of time was coloring the images with various SU markers. Yes, that was a “me” thing!
I was so bummed about Glorious Green CS being retired, but I have found that I love the Garden Green CS too! Isn’t Stampin’ Up! fabulous? I am so glad that they keep a fresh outlook on their products and keep the new goodies coming out.

I have been “busy as a bee” making my holiday cards, as I need about 70 of them. I figured it would be a good idea to give you another “sneak peek” of some of the goodies coming in the holiday mini catalog, which you should have already received. Just a few more days (September 1) and you will be able to order your own new goodies to play with.
This card was made for an upcoming card swap here at CARDScraps. It highlights “A Cute Christmas” stamp set and Deck the Halls DSP.
This was a quick, easy and a FUN card to make. I even got into the gold embossing powder for a bit. I was going for an “old fashioned rustic” look and the materials that I used definitely gave me that appearance.
Stay tuned … I will have another gorgeous holiday card for you tomorrow.

Sorry, that I have not posted to the blog lately, but I have been completely engrossed with the new house. If all goes as planned, my contractor says that I will have access to the studio and the rest of the second floor the 3rd week in September and the rest of the house the 3rd week in October. So needless to say, I have been super busy!
Before I pack up my stamping and crafting supplies, I wanted to make a few cards, so I started with several items from the upcoming holiday mini catalog.
This card highlights the new Bells and Boughs stamp set along with the new Deck the Halls designer paper. Both of these products will be available as of September 1.
I also used the recently released Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder. How did I ever get along without Stampin’ Up!’s embossing folders? They really add lots of texture.
The upcoming holiday mini catalog is a "must have" for your upcoming holiday cards, scrapbooking and other projects. You will definitely go "ga-ga" over the new products being introduced.

A dear friend of mine is expecting a baby girl, so when I saw the new Baby Bundle stamp set by Stampin’ Up! in the new 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalog, I just had to get it. I made this adorable gift box which houses four cards. There’s still plenty of room in the box (which you can see in the images below), so I may just have to make a few more to stick in there. She’ll be able to use these as thank you cards or as birth announcements since I didn’t put a sentiment on them.
Another option that I’m considering is just putting a ribbon around the cards and then putting some of the baby gifts in the box. It’s approximately 7″ tall x 7″ wide and 1-1/2″ deep, so there’s plenty of room for little baby trinkets, rattles, pacifiers, etc. A couple of rolled up Onsies would fit in there just fine as well. Because it has a Velcro closure, I don’t have to worry about the contents falling out.
Anyway – if you’re interested in creating your very own, I have created a tutorial. This 18 page pdf contains more than 50 pictures walking you through each and every step to make the box and cards.
Below are some additional shots of the box and cards.

July 2, 2010
Well, it’s probably a good thing that I live in a different state than Brenda right now because she’d probably smack my hands for creating and showcasing a card on our blog that uses retired stamps the day after the NEW 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalog goes live.
But.I did use some of the new stuff and I wanted to talk a little bit about them. First off, do you see that fabulously vibrant card base? That’s the new In Color Poppy Parade. Gorgeous! It’s kinda like a reddish orange color and I absolutely love it.
When I decided that Poppy Parade was the color I wanted to work with today, I went to another new product by Stampin’ Up! – the new Color Coach (pg 165 in the catalog). This thing is fantastic! First, if you look closely in the image below, you’ll notice that I pulled my color combination directly from the back of the color swatch. If I’m ever stuck for a color combination, this is going to be an awesome resource. There’s two different combinations on the back of every single card. The other side is the solid color with the name and color family. It even has some blank cards so you can record your own favorite color combinations. What’s not to like love about that?

I realized after designing this card that I do not have any “missing you” sentiment stamps. :0 So I opted to print one directly onto Whisper White card stock. I have a little trick that I like to do. First, I print it on a full sheet of standard computer paper. Then I tape an appropriately sized scrap of Whisper White to it with masking tape and run it back through the printer. I’ve always had success with this process even on my cheap little inexpensive HP printer. The font that I used is Ali’s Hand by Ali Edwards – it’s a great little handwriting font for cards and scrapbooking.
One of these cards are headed out in the mail today for the Squares or Rectangles card swap. That one is closed for signups but we do have several that are still available for you to sign up for. They’re simple one-to-one swaps – meaning that you only have to send in one card and in return, you’ll get one back. This is great for the beginner swapper or for those that prefer not to have to make a bunch of the same card.
I hope you are all having a wonderful time browsing the new catalog. If you’d like one of your very own and don’t already have a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, we’d be happy to mail you a free catalog – just pay $5 for shipping. You can go here to order one today!
I hope everyone has a safe and wonderful holiday weekend!
