This will be my last blog post of 2009, but I am looking forward to 2010 and hoping that I will share projects that will inspire you to create your own.
This year has been a busy one for me and one that will not be soon forgotten. The saddest thing that happened to me this year was when my Mother passed away. That said, there have been many blessings in my life, as well. A few of the highlights have been spending time with my family and friends, being involved with Stampin’ Up!, creating, and sharing. Another BIG adventure has been the designing and planning of my new dream home, which should be ready next fall. I can hardly wait until I get into the new studio!

What has your year been like – we would love to hear about your highlights of 2009. Post your comment at the end of this blog entry for a chance to win some blog candy. The winner will be selected by a random generator on January 1, 2010, and will be awarded the “Congrats” stamp set by Stampin’ Up! This is a versatile sentiment set and you will find yourself using it over and over again.
Well, I guess you would like to see the rest of the
New Year’s card, so here it is!
I love using this stamp set for New Year’s projects. It is not year specific, therefore you can use it for many years to come.

The color theme on this card is perfecto for a brand New Year. And, don’t you just fancy the spot coloring on the designer paper – I know I did. The inspiration for this card came from gigglingfaerie. It was a fun card to make and I really liked the “classy” results.
If you wanted to step it up and make it more elaborate, you could texturize the black card base and mat with one of Stampin’ Up! texture plates and the Big Shot. Not sure if you can tell by the photo, but I also used some Crystal Effects on the glass.
Gotta go, but I wanted to take a few minutes and wish everyone a Happy New Year and leave you with a old saying that my Grandma used to say “whatever you are doing at midnight when the new year comes in is what you will be doing mostly throughout the upcoming new year.” I guess I need to be creating when 2010 comes in – how about you, what will you be doing at the stroke of midnight?
