I’ve been so busy all week trying to get the rest of my wood mounted stamps converted to cling mount stamps, that I didn’t get a chance to play much.  However, I’m finally back with a cute little card made with one of the cutest stamp sets ever!  It’s called Greeting Card Kids and it’s new in Stampin’ Up!’s
2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalog.
I used the
Mojo Monday sketch challenge for the layout on this one.  I actually created it a bit differently than I normally do.  I colored and paper pieced the image before I ever decided what colors the rest of the card was going to be.
I used the Pawsitively Prints designer paper which is still available through Stampin’ Up! although it’s not showing in the new catalog.  They actually have the new set called Pawsitively Prints II and it’s got brighter colors and I absolutely LOVE it!

Here’s a close-up of the paper pieced dress.  I also pieced her hair bow and the bow on her dress as well.  Sorry the bottom is a little blurry.
The ribbon is gathered by hand sewing it with some thread and then pulling it tight and gluing it down.  Very fun technique – I really like the way it turned out on this card.  I wish I’d have had more room on the other side to have some over there as well.  I’m sure this is a technique you’ll see on a future card as I love the dimension it adds.
I decorated the inside of the card with some more designer paper and the Word Play stamp set.  This card is going to a dear friend of mine who’s going through a rough time right now.
Click on the images to view them larger.  BTW – it looks like there’s something on the inside of the card – but there isn’t.  Not sure what that is.  Must have been something on my camera.
