Lightbulb One Layer Card Challenge & FREE Project Sheet Download

Today’s card was created for a challenge at the LNS Yahoo Group which was to create a card with only the one layer.  As you already know, I LOVE dimension and lots of layers, so this type of card is very challenging for me.  I did add a ribbon, which may or may not count as an additional layer but since I saw the challenge hosts doing it, I figured it was ok this time.LOL.

I played with several variations before this one – most of which, I just wasn’t happy with.  However, as I kept playing and adding more, I came across a combination that I really like.

You can’t tell really from the photos, but this card has a wonderful shimmer to it.  I’m hoping you can see it better in the photo below if you click on it to zoom in.  I did this by spraying the entire card front with my homemade shimmer mist that I created by putting about 5-6 drops of Frost White Shimmer Paint into a small spray bottle filled with Isopropyl Alcohol.  I love this stuff and have a bottle for each of the 3 different Shimmer Paints that Stampin’ Up! sells.

Are you interested in learning how to create one of these cards yourself?  Well I have created a free downloadable project sheet which you can download from the ResourcesProject Sheets Section.  It’s called Single Layer Christmas Card.  By default, they are in alphabetical order, so you’ll need to browse to page 2 unless you change the sort by box at the top.  While you’re there, check out some of the other free project sheets we have available.  I’ve got a couple more up my sleeve as well for some of the recent cards I’ve shared.  Watch for a blog post soon to download those.

I’m doing good – it’s my fourth project posted on the blog this week!  I’m hoping you’re enjoying all of these projects.  I’d love to know what you think.  If you try out the project sheet, I’d love to see your version.  Send me an email with a link to see it!

Hope you have a wonderful Thursday – the weekend is almost here!

Happy Stamping
