Lightbulb Trick or Treat Mojo Card

Are you starting to get in the Halloween spirit?  Normally, I don’t do a whole lot for Halloween, so this year, I didn’t really buy any of the fabulous Halloween stamp sets – but now, I’m kicking myself in the behind!  I’ve seen so many fabulous cards created with the new Halloween stuff!  I did break down and buy the Spider Web textured impressions embossing folder though.  It came in yesterday and I got to work immediately on this card.  Well, actually I started two different variations using the same colors, stamp, etc.  I’ll show you the other one within the next couple of days.

For this card, I used this week’s MOJO Monday sketch for the layout.  That sketch just “spoke” to me when I saw it at the beginning of the week.

I used my homemade Platinum Shimmer Mist made from the Platinum Shimmer Paint and some Isopropyl Alcohol to give all of the black card stock some shimmer.  I added glue to the base of each leaf and the branch and once it was dry, I rolled the leaves up to give it some added dimension.  LOVE the effect!  A while back, I got a HUGE bag of these plastic rhinestones in multi-colors from a big box store where they were on clearance for like $2.00.  They’re made to go onto clothes or something.  I used Crystal Effects to glue them to the card because they don’t have adhesive on them like Stampin’ Up!’s rhinestones do.  Now that I’ve got these things open, I’m sure I’ll use them in a bunch of cards in the future – gotta love the bling!

Anyway, I would love to know what you think of the card.  Have a great night!  Here’s a couple of close-ups so that you can see the shimmer and sparkle that I added!  Click on them for a closer view!

This is a beautiful card. I love the black embossed and those black leaves, they accent it wonderfully.
