Lightbulb Chicken Potpie Recipe Card

For a long time now, I’ve been wanting to try my hand at making recipe cards with scrapbooking supplies.  I decided that it’s time since I have several magazines open to different recipes sitting on my desk just waiting to be copied.  And being paper crafters, we can’t just copy it and throw it in a box.

Actually, for now, it will be going in a box, but I’m going to be on the lookout for the perfect 4×6 photo album to house my new recipe card collection.  What I’m wanting to get is one of the photo albums that has the individual pockets for 4 x 6 photos.  As long as I keep my recipe cards this size and don’t give them too much dimension, I shouldn’t have a problem.  You know they’re not going to be flat though – I just don’t have it in me.LOL.

So, for my first recipe card, I chose a basic recipe that I found in Country Living Magazine.  I searched their website and you can view the recipe here.  It’s a simple basic recipe that can be altered to include whatever ingredients and spices you want.  I love recipes like that – learn the basics and throw in whatever suits you – or rather, whatever you have leftover in the refrigerator!

I typed out the recipe in MS Word.  After printing the recipe onto Whisper White card stock, I stamped the little partridges (sorry, I don’t have a chicken stamp..lol) from the Happy Together stamp set in So Saffron ink across the bottom of the printed recipe.

I used the Buttons #5 Sizzlet to make the layered embellishment in the corner.  I simply tucked the corners of the square button into the perforated edges of the medium round button for some added interest – plus, this makes it a little more dimensional.  I simply tied a piece of cotton thread through the buttons and attached it to the recipe card using a Mini Glue Dot.

</p>Hope you like it!&#160; Let me know what you think!
