Lightbulb Bells & Boughs Swap Card

I know it’s been a while since my last share.  I have been uninspired to say the least.  I need to find my mojo!

I made these last month for the SU! Only Christmas Holiday Mini Catalog Full Card Swap.  This one is a little different than the other swaps we do here at CS.  You actually create 6 of the same cards and send them in and you get 5 different ones in return.  This is a great way to build up your card stash for the upcoming holiday.

Here you can see where I have colored and matted each of the stamped bells from the Bells & Boughs stamp set – which is on sale right now for 20% off!  Get all of the details here!

Do you recognize the layout on this card?  Well maybe that’s because it’s my take on this months sketch challenge.  We’d love for you to participate.  Each submission earns you an entry into the random drawing to win the Patterns Pack II 6? x 6? Designer Series Paper Pack.

Although I didn’t use any designer paper on these cards, they still coordinate perfectly with the Deck the Halls designer series paper as that’s where I got my color pallet.  I did use some of the Deck the Halls fabric to create a frayed “ribbon” and bow for my cards.

The Merry Christmas sentiment is actually stamped with Cherry Cobbler Classic Ink and embossed with Clear Embossing Powder in one simple step.  To do this, first ink your stamp with VersaMark ink and then go directly to the Cherry Cobbler Classic Ink.  Stamp onto your paper and immediately apply the embossing powder.  The addition of the VersaMark ink gives your image an extended period where it’s wet so that the embossing powder will stick.  This enables you to emboss your images and sentiments with every color ink you have without having to have a ton of Craft Inks or different colored embossing powders.

Click on the images to view them larger.

Below, you can see the interior of my cards.  I think stamping the holly is a nice finishing touch for the inside which still leaves plenty of room for a sentiment.

Happy Stamping
