Lightbulb A Valentine for Mom

I saw a card a while back created by Krystal De Leeuw and just had to save it for inspiration.  My plan was to pretty much CASE (copy and share everything) it entirely, but I did manage to change up a few things.  I don’t currently have the designer paper she used (although it’s on order), so I had to switch it up just a bit.  Also, I opted not to use VersaMark and embossing powder on my red card stock. I thought the debossed hearts from the Heart Pressed Letterpress plate were fine by themselves – just a bit more subtle and let the stamped image take center stage.

Because I still have Chocolate Chip Satin Ribbon which is retired, I chose to use Chocolate Chip card stock, but these could easily be switched out for Early Espresso which is just a bit darker.

On the inside of the card, I used the letterpress plate on just the top and bottom edges of the Whisper White card stock and then created two score lines with my Bone Folder.  I stamped Happy Valentine’s Day from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set in the bottom right corner and then just manually added a couple of dots before it with a marker.  I know it’s hard to see but you may be able to see it better if you click on it and view it larger.

To make Mom stand out on the front of the card, I stamped it again in Chocolate Chip and cut the word Mom out and pasted it over the image stamped in Real Red.  You could also just use your markers directly on the stamp to color the words individually, but this was definitely quicker.  You also have the option then to pop Mom up using Dimensionals.  Rather than sewing the button onto the front like I usually do, I just used a small piece of Sticky Strip.

Happy Stamping
