I’m back again to show off another card created using stamps and designer paper from this year’s
Sale-a-Bration!  Remember,
Sale-a-Bration ends on March 31, so you only have today and tomorrow to get your order in to qualify to get some freebies!
Do you ever have one of those Oops! moments and have to figure out how to fix it?  Well this card is one of those.  It turned out being quite a few more layers than I had originally intended, but all-in-all, I like the end result.
You see, originally, this card had a
Crumb Cake card stock base.  I had all of my little square pieces of
Ice Cream Parlor designer paper (FREE during
Sale-a-Bration) glued to it.  As I looked at my card, I knew it needed something more.something in between those squares to solidify my “quilt look”.  So I inked up my stitching stamp which I cut from the
In Stitches wheel with
Basic Black ink and just had this feeling that I wasn’t going to like it and wish that I hadn’t stamped in between those squares.  I was already reciting my blog post in my head – blogging about how you wish you wouldn’t have done something when all of a sudden, I managed to drop the inked stitching stamp on my card base.  Luckily it didn’t get any ink on the designer paper squares, but stamped about 3 times in the upper corner of the Crumb Cake card base.  Big Oops – and not the one I thought I was going to have!  Well, time to cut down my card base and remove the oops!
So I tried a few different color combinations and this is the one that I like best.
Melon Mambo card stock onto a
Pacific Point card stock base.  Now – I have something to say about the Pacific Point card base.  I LOVE the color – however, I don’t think I’ve
EVER really used it.  I have had one pack of it since it first became an In Color a few years ago and I still have pretty much the entire pack unused.  I guess my card style doesn’t present very many opportunities to use a bright blue, although I have to say that I love it on this card.

Because the card base is so dark, I wanted a bright cheery inside as well.  So in comes a few more layers to give this card some serious thickness.  It’s thick, but it feels like a quality card – much better than anything you’d get at some greeting card store!  I used half squares on the edges for the quilt look at the bottom here because I wanted to make sure that I used each of the patterns that I used on the front and I wanted my stitching lines here as well.
For the flower, I didn’t want to use a button for the interior, so I used one of the little sticker circles in the
Ice Cream Parlor designer paper pack.  Very cute

.
Did you notice that my card doesn’t have a sentiment?  Yep, this is one of those generic ones that I can either stamp the greeting at the last minute or I can just include a handwritten sentiment.  Gotta love generic cards – everyone should have a ton of them in their stash!
So now that I’ve shown you a few more things you can do with the free stamps and paper in the
Sale-a-Bration catalog, it’s time for you to get your orders in.  Click
