Lightbulb Last Chance at Bliss

I know, strange title, right?  But it’s true.  Bliss is one of those stamp sets that should be in every stampers collection.  And what’s better than getting free Bliss?  Nothing.  But you have to act fast because today is the very last day to get this stamp set.  Simply place a $50 order online BEFORE midnight MT tonight and you can get this set for FREE!

This card was inspired by an extremely talented crafter named Teneale Williams.  She creates the most beautiful cards.  Every time I see one of her cards, I just want to run right into the craft room and CASE it.  And really, that was my intention with this one, but I managed to change it up a bit along the way.  I guess that’s what happens when you don’t have a computer monitor in your craft room and you are just working from memory.  You can see the card that inspired me here.

I opted to go with a much more vintage look with my card.  For starters, I used Concord Crush card stock for the base.  I did the Rock n’ Roll stamping technique on the damask image using Perfect Plum ink and Concord Crush ink. I then did the Faux Pearl technique on the entire stamped image using Frost White Shimmer Paint and some scrunched up plastic wrap.  After sponging the various colors around the edges, I used a tissue and scrubbed over the surface to remove the ink from the Shimmer Paint.  It’s hard to tell in the photos, but this gives the card an awesome patina.  The only part of this card that I really don’t care for is the Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon bow.  It just seems to look out of place to me.

Here’s a shot of the inside – yep, another card with no sentiment.  I can stamp a quick sentiment in it or add my own handwriting.  If you look closely, you’ll see where I smeared the ink on my butterflies a bit when I was scrubbing over the Shimmer Paint.  It’s not quite as noticeable on the card as it is in the photo – not sure why the camera picked up that so well.

Here’s a close-up of the front corner – I’m hoping that it will help show the detail of what the Faux Pearl technique looks like.  It’s still not a true representation, but hopefully you will get the idea.

Anyway, as I said, this is your last chance to place an order before the end of Sale-a-Bration until next year!

Happy Stamping
