I have two different versions of this card for you today.  On the first one, I wanted to keep it Stampin’ Up! products only.  Not that I added a whole lot of non-Stampin’ Up! to the other one – but anyway.lol.
I decided to participate in Technostamper’s Lunchtime Sketch Challenge, which is actually a Blog Hop.  You can participate and add your entry right to the bottom of my post as well as set it up to show up on your own blog too.  Details below.
Back to the cards – For the first card, I think most of it is pretty self explanatory.  I didn’t do any special techniques to the stamping.  I sponged the edges of designer papers and the main stamped image but that’s pretty much it.  For the bow,
I used a standard silver brad and wrapped the prongs around the 5/8″ Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon to “tie” it.  The I adhered one of the largest
Basic Pearls to it so it wouldn’t blend better with the pearls on the right side of the card.  I used the
Jewelry Tag Medium Punch to create the little pieces on the bottom right corner of the
Springtime Vintage designer paper and folded them around to the back side.  I then added one of the medium
Basic Pearls to the center of each one.

For the other card, I wanted to use buttons.  I just love the dimension that buttons add and I didn’t have any Stampin’ Up! ones that I wanted to use on this one.  So I dug into my stash and came out with a few pearly looking ones.  If you look closely, the buttons on the right side are all still attached to each other with the
Linen Thread. This wasn’t my intention when I was adding them to the card – it was just easier to tie them connected. I figured I would cut the ends once I got them in place.  However, after I added the button and
Linen Thread to the satin bow, I decided that it was an interesting touch to have it look like they were all still attached.  You can really see it in the close-up.  Just click on the images to make them larger.  I added a little Easter tag to the other end of the thread and stuck it to the bottom corner with a small piece of Dimensional.
I wish you could see it in real life because I love the way it looks.  The pictures just don’t seem to show it off very well.

For the inside, I kept it rather simple but still decorated.  A small strip of leftover designer paper on the bottom with a
Very Vanilla card stock mat.  I sponged the edges of the top piece of card stock and stamped the Happy Easter sentiment in
Marina Mist ink.  I stamped and cut out a few of the Easter eggs and added them to the bottom corner.  The interior is the same in both of the cards just to tie the two sections together a little better and reinforce the Easter theme.
So which one do you like better?  It goes without saying that I like the one with the buttons and
linen thread better, but I’d love to hear your opinion and why.
The sketch I used was created by Mary Jo Price-Williams.  Her sketch challenges are a little different in that when you participate and post the code on your blog, you’re automatically added to the Blog Hop and anyone can participate and add their entry from any of the participating blogs.  How cool is that?
So are you ready to give it a shot?  Here’s her sketch – be sure to add your entry below!
