Default Silly stamp question...

So I am new to stamping (I have a ton of them that I have collected here and there that I have used once or twice LOL) and I am looking through the Stampin' Up Idea Book & Catalog and now I have a possibly stupid question...

What does double mounted mean? I am asking because of the "It's a Plan" stamps on page 129.

No questions are silly. The ones that you do not ask, may be though!

Are you talking about It's A Party in the Mark the Date set?

Double mounted means that you actually have a rubber stamp on each side of the wood. Generally this is done with smaller stamps or sentiments.

Let me know if you have any other questions regarding double mounted stamps.

Thanks.

In this particular case though, they are not small stamps. Those are background stamps and are 4-1/2" x 5-3/4". I am wanting that set too so I knew exactly what set you were talking about...LOL.

A lot of their alphabet stamp sets are double mounted. Maybe all of them are actually. Define your life is double mounted also.

You are correct Annette.

Seems like I saw somewhere that SU may not be doing a lot of double mounted stamps going forward - but, don't quote me on that!

I'll quote you - LOL!

You are correct. Stampin' UP! is not going to double mount and sets going forward as they have heard from the general stamping populous that this is not the way they want their stamps. However, stamp sets that are already double mounted will remain that way.

Hugs~
